HISTORY & OBJECTIVES

Southside Trail & Driving Club was first organized in 1980 by a group of 12 Bedford County horse people with the objectives of creating interest in trail riding & driving, recreation, and fellowship and to develop a greater love for animals and a humane attitude toward them. Presently our members ride & camp locally as well as travel out of state to seek out new riding opportunities. We try to organize at least 1 ride per month during the year when weather permits along with other unscheduled rides by members. In December of each year we hold our annual Christmas party at the Chamblissburg Ruritan Club house. Our monthly meetings are also held here on the third Sunday of each month at 3: pm unless the meeting is held on site at a scheduled ride.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to persons owning or having access to horse or buggy and have a genuine interest in trail riding or driving. Prospective members must attend a ride and a meeting and be approved by the board of directors before being placed before the membership for a vote. Members may be asked to leave for unbecoming conduct such as cruelty to animals, abusive language, or disobeying club rules,

Our club is dedicated to enjoying our animals and friends in a non threatening atmosphere free form alcohol, drugs and prejudice. If you have to be drunk or high to enjoy yourself, our club is not for you.
